Key issues in the current efforts to improve access to justice at the EU and national level are the digitisation of procedures and decision making, the privatisation of justice ADR , increasing self-representation, and court specialisation. We investigate how these trends influence access to justice in selected, representative Member States, and what the repercussions are for the emerging EU civil justice system. However, we also are keen to broaden our horizons and to look beyond these five countries and outside of Europe.

We combine legal-normative and comparative law research with empirical research, which helps us in testing and revising our ideas.

Global Insights on Access to Justice 12222

Uploaded By sixtyaswe. Introduction This Conference provides an important opportunity for consumer affairs agencies to consider, develop and advance new solutions for protecting retail consumers in the face of two powerful trends. The first trend is the globalisation of markets driven by new technologies and advances in product marketing and service delivery. The second is the continuing retreat of governments, in many nations, from traditional forms of regulating the marketplace.

A new set of regulatory solutions with a focus on market-based remedies and global perspectives is required, and the challenge for delegates to this Conference is to contribute constructively to this process.
